Options pricing places Bitcoin (BTC) contracts expiring Nov. 4 at a higher annualized volatility level than later contracts, a market reading ahead of the U.S. midterm vote.

The Nov. 4 contracts register 43.5%, compared with about 36% for later Bitcoin expirations. Implied volatility is an annualized measure derived from options prices. The 43.5% figure is not a forecast of a 43.5% price change before the contracts expire, and it does not indicate whether BTC will rise or fall.

Ether (ETH) options also show readings near 36% on contracts due in late November.
