Bitcoin (BTC) options with a $1.47 billion notional value expired Oct. 16, as analytics platform Greeks.live reported 18,000 contracts and a put-call ratio of one.
Greeks.live said the expiring contracts represented 4.5% of Bitcoin options positions. A separate Oct. 16 snapshot showed calls made up 60.15% of outstanding options, based on Coinglass data cited in EconoTimes’ earlier report on Bitcoin options positioning. Greeks.live also said U.S. stocks had fallen sharply during the week amid weak macroeconomic data, with digital assets mostly following the decline.
Separately, CNN reported Oct. 15 that U.S. military planners were developing possible strike options for Iran, including use of a Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb (MOAB) against nuclear and energy sites. CBS News separately reported, citing sources familiar with the matter, that the White House and Pentagon had prepared plans to use the bomb against military sites in Iran if Trump ordered a strike.
A White House spokesperson told CBS News, “We do not comment on sensitive military plans that may or may not exist.” Neither report said Trump had approved a strike. CBS said U.S. forces used the bomb in 2017 against an Islamic State cave complex in Afghanistan.
Trump wrote on Truth Social Oct. 8 that the United States would not attack Iran before the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
