Short positions made up nearly all Bitcoin (BTC) liquidations across Binance, Bybit and OKX in a one-hour Oct. 20 reading, as the cryptocurrency’s Binance spot price rose 1.60%.

The three exchanges recorded $8.47 million in short-position liquidations during the hour, compared with $120,000 in long-position liquidations. At 10:07 a.m. ET (14:07 UTC), Binance’s BTC/USDT spot pair stood at $82,788.

The Binance quote had been $81,486 an hour earlier. At the later reading, Bitcoin was up 0.95% from its level 24 hours before. The price change reflects trading on Binance’s spot market, while the liquidation figures cover positions on all three exchanges.

A separate one-hour reading on Monday counted $12.82 million in Bitcoin short liquidations across the same exchanges as the price rose 0.16%. That tally covers a different period from the Oct. 20 reading.
