Bitcoin (BTC) rose 0.92% to $84,654 in the hour ending 11:15 a.m. ET Oct. 21 (15:15 UTC), while short-position liquidations on Binance, Bybit and OKX reached $35.49 million.

Bitcoin started the hour at $83,886. Short positions accounted for $35.49 million in liquidations and long positions for $70,000. The price change and liquidation figures cover the same 60-minute period.

The figures reflect Bitcoin activity on Binance, Bybit and OKX only. They exclude other exchanges and do not combine liquidation amounts across different crypto assets. Short positions generally benefit when prices fall, while long positions generally benefit when prices rise; Bitcoin gained during this interval.

The hour covered a different period from the one in a separate earlier EconoTimes report on Bitcoin liquidations.
