After the Federal Reserve raised rates in September, Bitcoin (BTC) traded near $82,000 and XRP near $1.30 early Tuesday, with the central bank’s next decision set for Oct. 28.

CoinGecko showed $82,003.16 for Bitcoin and $1.30 for XRP at 12:57 a.m. ET (04:57 UTC) Tuesday. The XRP quote matched the level in an EconoTimes market snapshot from Oct. 18.

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) increased the federal funds target range by 0.25 percentage points to 3.75%–4.00% on Sept. 16. The Fed said inflation remained elevated and tied the increase to its goal of bringing inflation back to 2%.

Santiment said Oct. 19 that wallets containing 10 to 10,000 BTC had accumulated about 88,987 BTC since Sept. 19. Their combined balance topped 13.69 million BTC, a six-month high, the analytics firm said. Wallet balances do not establish how many individuals own the coins, and Santiment cautioned that the accumulation does not guarantee a price gain.

The Fed has scheduled its next policy announcement for 2 p.m. ET Oct. 28, followed by a news conference at 2:30 p.m. ET.
