The Clover Kingdom is still facing a complicated issue as several civilians formed a group called Devil Believers and captured three Magic Knights – Secre, Asta, and Noelle. To deal with the tension, Yami arrives to face the enemies while teasers for “Black Clover” episode 148 indicate that William would be joining them as well.
‘Black Clover’ episode 148 spoilers, preview: Magic Knights captains face the Devil Believers
Asta and Noelle are the most recent captives of the Devil Believers. The group is confirmed to seek an alliance with the devil Megicula in the Spade Kingdom hoping that it would give them powers. As they showed in the previous episode, they are not afraid of the risks that this will entail even if it means many of them could end up dead.
Episode 147 ended with Magna and Yami reaching where the Devil Believers are, and an earlier reported “Black Clover” episode 148 synopsis cited that Fuegoleon and Nozel are also joining them. The video preview for the next episode also shows William, who appears to be at the same location where the Devil Believers are. If that is the case, it means several Magic Knights captains are present to deal with the Devil Believers.
It is unclear, though, if they are there to fight members of the group in “Black Clover” episode 148. While they are openly forming an alliance with Clover Kingdom’s main enemies in the Spade Kingdom, the Devil Believers are still mainly composed of commoners or civilians. That means the Magic Knights cannot just use their abilities and fight them in combat.
The “Black Clover” episode 148 video teaser shows a chaotic scene, but it could be just a flashback for Dazu where she remembers the dying moments of her husband. The same synopsis did mention that the Magic Knights captains seek to negotiate, but the Devil Believers might not be open to peacefully resolving things.
‘Black Clover’ episode 148 release date, where to watch
While the Spade Kingdom is currently an important element, it is unlikely to be featured in “Black Clover” episode 148. The ongoing anime arc contains canon stories (technically, not fillers), but they are not based on the events from the manga where the Spade Kingdom is officially shown.
“Black Clover” episode 148 will be released on Tuesday, Oct. 20. A simulcast with English subtitles is available through the paid version of Crunchyroll.
