Blue Origin’s recovery work at its Florida launch site is continuing as the company targets January 2027 for the next New Glenn flight, Reuters reported, extending the rocket’s return beyond its public year-end goal.

Reuters reported the new target on Nov. 5, citing a staff memo from CEO Dave Limp and two people familiar with the matter. Reuters said the Financial Times first reported the schedule change. The report did not specify a launch day in January.

Blue Origin said June 30 that it intended to return New Glenn to flight by the end of 2026. The company traced an anomaly during a May 28 hot-fire test at Launch Complex 36 in Florida to the main oxygen valve on one of the rocket’s BE-4 engines, according to an Aug. 5 update. Blue Origin said it was modifying the valve.

The company said the incident damaged or destroyed the lightning tower, transporter-erector and hydraulic cylinders, and that reconstruction had begun. Reuters reported that Blue Origin had repaired the Vehicle Access Tower and stacked it again, and that the launch bridge was back in service. Limp’s memo cited summer weather as a factor slowing the work, Reuters reported.

“Rebuilding at this pace hasn't been easy,” Limp wrote in the memo, according to Reuters. Blue Origin’s mission archive lists three New Glenn flights, most recently on April 19, 2026. Reuters described Blue Origin as a key launch provider for Amazon’s Leo satellite internet constellation.
