Olivier Janssens, the newly elected Bitcoin Foundation board member, has unexpectedly taken a revolting stance against the organization. He accused the foundation of lacking transparency of its actions while showing their decision to ignore recording the board meetings.
"We [him and Jim Harper] followed Robert's rules of orders, and everyone else basically shut us down and failed to follow procedures," wrote Janssens, while recalling his version of truth.
"The Bitcoin Foundation hates transparency," he added.
He constantly emphasized on some facts linked to the foundation's bankruptcy, citing that it is distrustful and is therefore not receiving any sort of funds from bitcoin space. He also blamed them for spending funds recklessly from the last two years, suggesting that their recent assurance to focus only on bitcoin's core development was a stunt to simply generate more funds.
"The truth is that the Foundation's plan was to hire even more core developers + to start a Bitcoin Standards Body. No organization should have this much control over Bitcoin, and a disaster was avoided."
Bitcoin Foundation's reputation is in troubled waters after Janssens's sudden outburst. They would have to make really strong public statements in response. Moreover, whatever damage happened will require more than just an explanation in times of mending.
