Many fans of the “Borderlands” franchise have been clamoring for a third game to be released with the full expectation that it will be everything a sequel should deliver. With the release of an announcement trailer for “Borderlands 3,” it would seem that Gearbox has heard these prayers. Unfortunately, many came out disappointed by what has been teased, so far. Will the game be utter garbage?
In its reaction piece with regards to the announcement trailer of “Borderlands 3” as seen below, Polygon noted that it represents a ton of bad details. The publication suggests that it is not what a good sequel is supposed to be in that it’s basically just “Borderlands 2” with more guns.
Now, fans can make up their minds about the “Borderlands 3” clip themselves and based on the dislike bar, a vast majority are happy with what they are seeing. For those who are not sold on the concept of the game, though, the feeling of disappointment is difficult to shake off. As to what is causing this feeling, it basically has to do with the fact that it doesn’t appear to offer any drastic change compared to previous games.
On the other hand, the “Borderlands 3” clip could be composed of only the shallowest aspects of the game, with the deeper and more satisfying parts showing themselves later on. After all, a game can’t be fully appreciated by just watching the trailer alone. It is simply being suggested that what the clip has shown, so far, is not exactly encouraging when considering what is at stake.
As to when fans can expect “Borderlands 3” to hit store shelves, this particular tidbit has yet to be revealed. However, considering that the game has been teased for a while and already has an announcement trailer, an early 2020 launch would not be completely impossible.
