Bose’s acquisition of Skullcandy adds a Park City audio brand to its portfolio, with Bose saying the deal could help it reach consumer communities where it has less presence.

Announced Oct. 21, the deal puts Skullcandy in Bose’s Premium Consumer Audio business. Bose identified Mill Road Capital Management LLC as the Connecticut-based private investment firm managing the fund from which it acquired Skullcandy. Financial and other transaction terms were not disclosed.

Bose said Skullcandy will keep its own name and remain based in Park City, Utah. Bose plans to support the brand’s growth with access to technology and other resources, along with greater distribution and commercial relationships.

Bose pointed to Skullcandy’s connections with boardsports, music, gaming and fitness, saying those communities could help it reach consumers where Bose has less presence. In an interview with WIRED, Bose CEO Lila Snyder said the deal could give Bose access to a customer base it thinks it has largely missed.

The companies had worked together for several years before the acquisition, incorporating Sound by Bose technology into Skullcandy earbuds and headphones, according to Bose. Skullcandy said its Crusher 1080 ANC headphones, released July 15, 2026, used the technology and had a listed price of $279.99.

Skullcandy CEO Brian Garofalow called the deal “a win for Skullcandy and our fans.” The brand’s own history traces its start to Park City in 2003 and links its identity to boardsports.

Bose has also expanded its portfolio through other audio brands. It announced the acquisition of McIntosh Group, whose brands include McIntosh and Sonus faber, in November 2024.
