France’s armed forces ministry said a joint exercise involving France’s airborne nuclear deterrent took place between Britain and France for the first time; French armed forces minister Catherine Vautrin named the aircraft involved.
Vautrin said British Typhoons joined French Rafales in Tuesday evening’s exercise. She said, “Having independent nuclear forces does not preclude coordination.”
The Independent reported relatively tense relations with Russia in the context of the war in Ukraine.
