The Digital Chamber views Sherrod Brown’s return to the U.S. Senate as a major setback for crypto, saying his priorities may shape Democrats’ direction on digital-asset policy.

Brown defeated Republican Sen. Jon Husted in Ohio on Nov. 3. Democrats also regained control of the Senate in the election, as EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of the result detailed. Brown previously chaired the Senate Banking Committee.

To explain its assessment, the Chamber pointed to Brown’s focus on consumer protection and financial stability, alongside bank regulation and illicit finance. It said those issues could help shape Democrats’ wider policy debate on crypto.
