A Bybit call on Ether (ETH) expiring Oct. 19 was the most traded options contract in the Oct. 18 snapshot, as total Ether options volume reached $627.61 million, Coinglass data showed.
The contract had a $2,750 strike price. Binance calls with strikes of $2,475 and $2,500 ranked next by volume; both were also due to expire Oct. 19.
Open interest counts options contracts that remain outstanding. Coinglass reported their value at $5.85 billion, down 0.12% from $5.86 billion in the previous reading.
Calls made up 62.29% of open interest, while puts accounted for 37.71%. In 24-hour trading volume, calls represented 61.29% and puts 38.71%. Volume measures contracts traded during a period, while open interest tracks contracts still open, so the figures describe different parts of the market.
The open-interest leaders differed from the volume rankings. On Deribit, calls with $3,200 and $2,200 strikes and Dec. 25 expiries ranked first and second; a $2,600 call expiring Oct. 30 followed.
The call share of volume was up from 56.6% in the previous snapshot, while its open-interest share was close to the earlier 62.25%. In that prior reading, Bybit’s $2,700 call led trading volume, ahead of its $2,750 contract, according to EconoTimes’ Oct. 17 Ether options coverage. The current leading Bybit contract is scheduled to expire Oct. 19.
