CAD review: Western Union

Quotes from Western Union:

- Canada's loonie flashed some resilience as markets took to rethinking expectations for an imminent cut in area borrowing rates. Comments Tuesday from Canada's central bank governor weren't deemed sufficiently dovish to cement a rate cut at officials' coming meeting on March 4.

- Still, gains have proven tough to sustain for the loonie, a currency that has fallen prey to the collapsing oil trade. And lurking right around the bend for the loonie are inflation data on Thursday and fourth quarter growth on the eve of next week's BOC meeting.

- Any fresh signs of weakness north of the border could quickly see the loonie revisit recent lows as it would keep the door ajar to looser policy.
