President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement campaign may influence Texas voters’ midterm choices, CBS News said in a video segment examining its possible electoral effect. The network said Camilo Montoya-Galvez spoke with voters and officials. The segment described a change in voting behavior as a possibility, not a confirmed outcome.

Texas in-person early voting began Monday, Oct. 19, opening a 12-day window before the midterm elections. Democratic state Rep. James Talarico is running for Senate against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican, EconoTimes previously reported.

The contest could affect control of the Senate. EconoTimes earlier reported that Democrats would need a net gain of four seats to take control, and that Inside Elections rated the Texas race a toss-up on Oct. 15.
