The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has not cleared Kalshi’s proposed WTI perpetual contract, leaving its listing dependent on an approval decision after the company filed the product on Oct. 20.

Kalshi filed WTIPERP, and the CFTC product page labels the application “Approval Pending (45).” The review period can be extended, and the page gives no decision date.

Under the filing, each contract would represent 100 barrels of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude and settle in cash. The product would have no set expiration and would not require oil delivery. A funding mechanism would align its price with a WTI futures reference based on a constant one-month maturity.

The proposed weekly schedule would start Sunday at 6 p.m. ET and end Friday at 5 p.m. ET, subject to holidays and trading halts in the reference futures market. Kalshi says it intends to list the contract soon after CFTC approval.
