Hoboken, NJ, Nov. 16, 2017 -- November 15th, 2017 marked CKO Kickboxing’s 20 year anniversary since the day the company opened up its first location in Hoboken, New Jersey. The brand started in a run-down warehouse with a concept that would soon sweep the entire town and eventually expand to nine locations throughout New Jersey in 2004. The company turned its attention to franchising in 2007. From there, CKO Kickboxing’s growth has been consistent. Eventually, franchised locations started popping up all over the United States. Today, the CKO Kickboxing brand can be found in thirteen states plus Canada.
As Joseph Andreula, founder and CEO of CKO Kickboxing, explained, "The 20th anniversary is about every franchisee, member, manager, trainer, and staff member who gives of themselves every day and whose lives changed at CKO. We got here together. It's that united positive energy that's going to take us to the next level of worldwide. I want everyone to do well and the more we grow this community together, the better we will all do – that’s the key to who we are.”
CKO Kickboxing held two special classes with a DJ, giveaways, special surprises and multiple trainers teaching the second class together. The first of the two classes was taught by Joseph to commemorate the very first class he held 20 years ago that had just four people in attendance. In contrast, the anniversary classes on November 15th, 2017, filled the gym to capacity with members, staff, and trainers new and old to the brand. “Growth,” explained Joseph, “comes from the ability to acknowledge and appreciate the people around you and by using that appreciation to build on the positive traits of each person so that everyone feels the energy and excitement of the culture.”
CKO Kickboxing is a gym with one hour fitness kickboxing classes that allows people to work at their own pace and on their own punching bag. While learning kickboxing moves, those in class practice additional body-weight sets and kickboxing drills to get their heart rate up and body fat down. The music is always pumping and the trainers are always calling out new moves during the class to keep everyone active and engaged. Any fitness level, male or female, can go at their own pace to lose weight, build muscle, reduce stress and have a fun workout that takes their fitness to the next level.
