CME Group's launch of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) futures adds two contract sizes for managing exposure as the asset rose 4.95% over 24 hours and traded below its reported 200-day average Friday. BCH was $287.00 as of 09:09 UTC.

Two Oct. 23 estimates put the 200-day simple moving average at $290.15 and $291.07. The figures came from separate calculation snapshots, so BCH was below both reported readings.

CME Group has begun trading two BCH futures contracts. A standard contract represents 250 BCH; the micro version represents 25 BCH. The smaller contract offers a smaller unit of exposure, and futures let traders manage BCH price risk outside spot-market transactions.

CME's earlier plan set Oct. 19 as the target launch date, subject to regulatory review. EconoTimes previously covered CME's planned Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures.
