CME Group plans to launch Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures on Oct. 19, expanding its crypto derivatives lineup for traders seeking to manage price risk.

The launch remains subject to regulatory review, according to CME’s product page. If it proceeds, the additions will bring CME’s single-asset cryptocurrency futures lineup to 11.

For BCH, each standard contract would represent 250 coins and each micro contract 25. For UNI, the standard contract will cover 10,000 tokens and the micro contract 1,000. The smaller contracts give market participants another choice of position size when managing exposure to either asset.

CME cited client demand for cryptocurrency risk-management tools when it announced the plans on Sept. 22. At the time, it said futures on Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche and Sui added during 2026 had generated more than $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date. That figure describes the value represented by trading in those contracts, not trading in the proposed BCH and UNI products.

UNI futures could also matter to a proposed spot fund. The Bitwise Uniswap ETF filed a Form S-1 registration statement on Feb. 5. Under one SEC listing route, a UNI futures contract would need to be listed and traded on a CFTC-regulated designated contract market for at least six months. The fund’s listing exchange must also have a surveillance-sharing arrangement with that futures market. A UNI futures launch would therefore neither qualify the fund on its own nor amount to SEC approval.

The next step is CME’s planned Oct. 19 start for the two futures products, pending regulatory review.
