Castilla-La Mancha’s regional government confirmed at least 30 deaths after a two-train collision in Spain, The Guardian reported, following an earlier update that put the toll at 10.

Rail manager ADIF said the crash happened Wednesday morning in Toledo province. Local government spokesperson Esther Padilla told TVE the toll could rise and the situation was likely to worsen.

ADIF suspended high-speed service between Madrid and Andalusia after the crash, EconoTimes reported in its earlier coverage of the service suspension.
