Farmingdale, NY, Aug. 01, 2017 -- Cemtrex Inc. (Nasdaq: CETX, CETXP, CETXW), a world leading industrial and manufacturing company, today announced that it is moving forward with the development of an advanced “smart desk”, which will reinvent the workstation. The Company’s Advanced Technology team is leading the development of this product, which is the first of a robust pipeline of plans to reinvent the workspace environment.
Cemtrex’s smart desk will have many capabilities to service all the needs of a highly efficient employee from one sleek device. A few key features to highlight include a high resolution multi-touch display with ability to draw, scan documents directly on the desk, wireless connectivity for full access to the cloud and next generation wireless charging capabilities for mobile devices. A prototype of the smart desk is expected to be available by the end of 2017 and Cemtrex anticipates a commercial product will be ready for sale in 2018.
“The idea of a smart desk has been in the dreams of many people for a long time, and we believe that that advancements in digital touch screen displays, interactive software and the movement towards the cloud make this the right time for the development of a fully integrated smart desk,” commented Saagar Govil, Cemtrex’s Chairman and CEO.
“Our concept design for a smart desk reimagines the computer workstation form factor that has been largely unchanged for decades. This will be our first IoT proprietary product designed and produced by our in-house team. By leveraging Cemtrex’s extensive experience in electronics manufacturing, we have been able to quickly identify our product pipeline and choose this initial program.”
“The team will initially focus on developing the smart desk to meet the needs of enterprise offices and designer markets. With sales of the initial smart desk product targeted to begin in 2018, we are excited to start this exciting new chapter of Cemtrex’s history. There are several financial advantages to developing and manufacturing a proprietary line of advanced IoT products considering the scale of our existing capabilities,” continued Govil.
This is the first proprietary IoT product development program for the Company since announcing the formation of its Advanced Technologies subsidiary in July. The Advanced Technologies group will be focused on developing products for additional IoT and wearable segments in the future as the Company executes on its product roadmap. The company expects to add additional capabilities and talent to further its initiatives in this market.
