Chery Auto plans to introduce LEPAS in November through a staged L8 plug-in hybrid rollout across three named Gulf countries and other markets it has not disclosed.
The automaker’s Oct. 21 announcement listed the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar. It did not specify which market would receive the L8 first or give an exact launch date.
LEPAS also plans a Gulf presentation bringing its full new-energy vehicle (NEV) range together for the first time. Chery Auto did not say which models would appear or which vehicles would be available for purchase as the rollout begins.
The brand plans regional design projects and work with emerging local designers and lifestyle companies, including in design, sports and music. The company did not identify prospective partners.
The November plan follows an earlier shipment. Chery Group said in a July 8 announcement that an initial consignment of L8 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) had departed Guangzhou Nansha Port for Middle Eastern markets, including the UAE and Kuwait. That release said the regional brand introduction was still ahead.
The July statement described the L8 as a five-seat SUV and claimed a combined range of more than 1,300 kilometers and fuel consumption as low as 2.38 liters per 100 kilometers. It did not identify a test cycle for those figures.
Chery Auto said LEPAS debuted in Europe at Milan Design Week in April 2026. The company also reported L8 preorders in several European countries and ongoing L6 and L4 deliveries in Southeast Asia and other regions. It says the brand has more than 500 sales and service outlets worldwide.
November is the next stated milestone. Chery Auto has not announced a launch day, prices or sales targets.
