Cirque du Soleil ticket sales in the US are now are double digits higher than they were before the pandemic as more Americans get vaccinated and with states easing coronavirus restrictions, according to Cirque du Soleil Entertainment CEO Daniel Lamarre.
The company's shows will open internationally in markets that are highly vaccinated and will vaccinate all cast and crew members.
Rehearsals are currently underway for its “Mystere” and “O” shows, which will open on June 28 and July 1 in Las Vegas.
Cirque du Soleil also owns Blue Man Group, which will open on June 24 in Las Vegas.
The company kept in touch with about 95 percent of its former artists and intends to rehire them.
The company expanded its digital presence during the pandemic via its CirqueConnect platform, allowing it to reach out to 62 million viewers worldwide.
Lamarre noted that the numbers made them realize that there is a market for them outside of live shows.
