WASHINGTON, April 24, 2018 -- Eighty corporate boards joined the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the authority on leading boardroom practices representing more than 18,000 board members, during the first quarter of 2018. These new member boards join 1,300 others enrolled and actively participating in NACD membership. The new boards span a wide range of industries: automotive, banking, building materials, chemicals, computer software, construction, consulting services, consumer products, education, electronics, energy and utilities, financial services, food and beverage, government, health care, industrial equipment, information technology, insurance, manufacturing, metals, military, natural resources, pharmaceuticals, professional services, real estate, retail, semiconductors, telecommunications, and transportation. Of the 80 boards, 52 are from public companies, 17 are from private companies, and 11 are from nonprofit organizations.
NACD membership enables boards to serve as strategic assets for their enterprises, and empowers corporate directors to lead with confidence in the boardroom. NACD connects directors to the largest network of board members from leading public, private, and nonprofit organizations, as well as to 90 percent of the Fortune 1000.
NACD members gain exclusive access to thought-provoking, timely publications and digital resources that address current and emerging leadership issues, as well as to renowned director-development programs and opportunities to earn NACD Fellowship—the Gold Standard Director Credential®.
“We are proud to welcome these organizations as NACD Full Board Members. They join peers from Fortune 50 corporations, small- and mid-cap companies, private companies, and nonprofit organizations who are committed to advancing exemplary board leadership. There is no better investment in their board’s development,” said Peter Gleason, president and CEO of NACD.
