‘Classroom of the Elite’ season 2: Will the series still be renewed; Here are possible reasons why the anime is on hiatus

“Classroom of the Elite” season 2 may not be around yet, but there are reports that it will still return. This anime was introduced in 2017, and after running for a few months, there was no news about its renewal.

Now it has been three years since fans last saw the finale of “Classroom of the Elite” season 1, and there is no update from Lerche Studios up to now, which made fans very disappointed. They are really looking forward to the second season as the story of this anime is quite refreshing. It is not like the common school-themed anime, so the viewers are clamoring for its continuation.

About the show and its renewal

“Classroom of the Elite” season 2 will certainly be based again on the light novel series created by Kinugasa Shougo. The manga was titled Yōukoso Jitsuryoku Shijō Shugi no Kyōshitsu or "Welcome to the Classroom of the Supreme Ability Doctrine" and gained popularity as soon as it aired on television.

When it ended with 12 episodes in 2017 in its debut on TV, there was no follow-up about its renewal, so fans are still left clueless up to now. They think that it deserved more episodes, so “Classroom of the Elite” season 2 should be announced even if three years have already past.

Why it is not renewed yet - possible reasons

Lerche Studios is not confirming “Classroom of the Elite” season 2 yet because one possible reason is the producers’ or creators’ availability. They could be very busy with other works that they have no time to make a “Classroom of the Elite” anime.

Also, the materials is not a problem here since the first season only used up three chapters in the original novel series, so there are still more materials to be translated to produce “Classroom of the Elite” season 2.

Lerche Studios could be working on other animations thus they do not have the time. But then again, it is almost impossible that they have already canceled “Classroom of the Elite” season 2 because if they did, they would have announced it already. For sure, they will never keep the viewers waiting for nothing.

In any case, this anime has a good number of followers and has good ratings as well. TV Season & Spoilers noted that “Classroom of the Elite” season 2 will not be removed easily from the TV show lineup because it is a popular show with consistent high viewership ratings.

Meanwhile, “Classroom of the Elite” season 2 may not be confirmed yet but Akanagi predicted that it will be returning in late 2020 or early 2021.
