The Clorox Company recorded $1.91 billion in sales in fiscal 2027’s first quarter, a 33% year-over-year increase, as its GOJO acquisition accounted for part of the growth.
The quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026. Clorox attributed about 15 percentage points of reported sales growth to GOJO. Non-GAAP organic sales rose 18%; the company said the comparison benefited from the prior-year inventory drawdown tied to its ERP transition.
Gross margin was 40.4%, compared with 41.7% a year earlier, a decline of 130 basis points. Clorox cited higher commodity, manufacturing and logistics costs. Higher volume and cost savings partly offset those expenses, while the inventory step-up associated with GOJO reduced gross margin by about 50 basis points.
Diluted earnings per share reached $1.39, up 114% from $0.65. Non-GAAP adjusted EPS climbed 82% to $1.55 from $0.85. Clorox said higher sales, cost savings and a lower tax rate supported adjusted EPS growth, with higher costs offsetting some of the gains. The year-over-year comparison also benefited because about $0.90 of ERP transition-related inventory impact from the prior-year quarter did not recur. Net cash provided by operations rose to $143 million from $93 million, a 54% increase.
Chair and CEO Linda Rendle said results exceeded expectations, citing execution and timing. She said higher inflationary pressure was reflected in the company’s updated outlook.
