McDonald's Indonesia has launched "Wedding Mekdi," an affordable catering service for weddings, including a bundle of 100 chicken sandwiches and nuggets, a groundbreaking move in the fast-food industry. This venture, announced on social media, targets thrifty couples wanting an unconventional yet memorable reception meal.
After hosting numerous kiddie birthday parties, McDonald's Indonesia revealed it has jumped into weddings and now offering a package that already includes 100 pieces of chicken sandwiches. The fast-food chain said that this new bundle only costs more or less $200.
The Indonesian unit of McDonald's has officially set its sights on weddings, and this was announced on the company's social media account. The Big Mac seller said it would start this catering service for couples who are tying the knot starting this month.
As per CNBC, McDonald's Indonesia named the special package "Wedding Mekdi," and aside from the 100 chicken sandwiches, it will also be served with 100 packs of four-piece chicken McNuggets. The burger joint placed a bouquet of flowers and gold wedding bands in its promo beside the food items.
Initially, the wedding package is available at McDonald's stores in Jakarta, and thrifty couples may invite 100 guests to their wedding reception and be served with chicken nuggets and a chicken sandwich combo. In its ad, the restaurant said this unique "Wedding Mekhdi" package will make weddings more memorable.
But while the package is available, McDonald's said that it will now allow couples actually to hold their wedding inside the restaurant. Fox 11 News mentioned that wedding parties inside the store are only possible in McDonald's Hong Kong outlets.
"McD'ers, let us make the wedding moment more memorable with the Wedding Mekdi package," the Indonesian unit of the restaurant said. "Available various other exciting package options with a minimum order of 200 pcs."
