Bitcoin (BTC) closed Oct. 20 at $82,944 in CoinGecko's historical data, below the $87,000-to-$87,800 resistance band identified in a market analysis, while the provider's volume reading rose from Oct. 19.
Investing.com listed a different Oct. 20 close of $83,012.4 and a high of $83,364.4. That high remained below $87,000, the lower edge of the analysis's range. The different closing figures make the data provider relevant when citing an exact price.
CoinGecko's Oct. 20 volume reading was $25.8 billion, compared with $20.2 billion for Oct. 19. The analysis described trading during the consolidation as thin; its assessment did not characterize volume for Oct. 20 as a whole.
An earlier EconoTimes report on Bitcoin's 20-month simple moving average placed that separate benchmark at $87,165 on Oct. 16. It stood $325 below Bitcoin's 2026 opening mark of $87,490.
The analysis also marked roughly $90,000 as another area where sellers might emerge. That chart judgment concerns a level above its nearer resistance band.
