A Coinbase order-book snapshot on Oct. 18 listed $25.28 million in asks and $16.65 million in bids, leaving Bitcoin (BTC) sell-side value $8.63 million higher.
The snapshot priced Bitcoin at $81,801. Sell orders, called asks, outweighed buy orders, or bids. The totals measure dollar value visible in the book at the time, rather than completed trades or the number of individual orders.
An Oct. 17 Coinbase reading listed $25.34 million in asks and $18.11 million in bids. Those rounded totals produce a $7.23 million difference, compared with the reported $7.24 million sell-side lead. EconoTimes previously detailed the $0.01 million gap in its comparison of the Oct. 17 Coinbase figures.
A separate Oct. 17 Coinbase spot-book reading showed the opposite balance: bids were $26.26 million against $24.59 million in asks, a $1.67 million buy-side lead. Each reading records a different moment in Coinbase’s order book.
Binance’s perpetual futures market also showed more sell orders than buys, with a smaller imbalance than Coinbase’s spot-market gap.
