“We are excited to partner with Carahsoft to bring cost-effective solutions to organizations interested in commercial off-the-shelf geospatial data,” said Brant Howard, Founder and CEO, CompassData. “With its deep contract expertise, Carahsoft helps government agencies get geospatial data products into the hands of users quickly while reducing acquisition costs.”
Since 1994 CompassData has provided photo-ID ground control points (GCP) for commercial and government clients to support the production of satellite and aerial imagery products, QA/QC for geospatial data sets, and calibration of photogrammetric and SAR sensors. The CompassData global archive of 46,000+ GCPs has been used by U.S. government agencies such as the USDA, USGS, FEMA, NGA and FAA to support remote sensing programs. CompassData has developed an ISO 9001:2018 certified process to produce consistent and quality data which the geospatial community counts on to build maps and images to make informed decisions.
In April 2014, CompassData received FAA certification to produce photo-ID GCP and .85cm orthoimagery of airports to support the production of aviation data products. With a growing global archive of over 500+ airports available, civil and defense aviation agencies can produce current and accurate airport mapping data. The FAA can leverage off-the-shelf data to meet program requirements for AGIS airport mapping data, saving time and money as they build out the U.S. network.
“With the addition of CompassData to Carahsoft’s Geospatial portfolio, we’re now able to offer our government customers access to off-the-shelf ground control and airport mapping data,” said Tiffany Goddard, Director of Geospatial Solutions at Carahsoft. “CompassData’s map-once-and-reuse-often philosophy has produced big data products for ground control and aviation, allowing our customers and reseller partners access to critical data immediately and at reduced costs.”
The NGA Commercial Initiative to Buy Operationally Responsive GEOINT (CIBORG) program is proposing to leverage GSA contract vehicles to acquire commercial data to support mission requirements. The availability of CompassData commercial Ground Control and Aviation Data on Carahsoft’s GSA schedule and SEWP V contracts will enable GEOINT programs to buy accurate and consistent data that may have only been available to classified programs and not easily shared with collation partners in the past.
CompassData’s growing global archive of more than 46,000 GCPs and 500 airports will support the GEOINT mission to support the warfighter with accurate geospatial products and services delivered to the point of decision. See the approximate location of the GCP and airport data on the CompassCom website.
CompassData photo-ID Ground Control and Airport Mapping Data are available immediately via Carahsoft’s GSA Schedule No. GS-35F-0119Y and SEWP V contracts NNG15SC03B and NNG15SC27B.
