Copper edges down as dollar picks up ahead of Fed

  • Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange had slipped 0.2 percent to $4,937 a tonne by 0106 GMT, extending 0.5-percent losses from the previous session.
  • Prices have repeatedly failed to break above the 200-day moving average, which stood at $5,033 a tonne on Tuesday
  • Shanghai Futures Exchange copper fell 1.1 percent to 37,360 yuan ($5,750) a tonne.
