“Cyberpunk 2077” is now enjoying a new level of hype following that massive E3 reveal. And as promised by the developers, more information is being offered by CD Projekt Red regarding the much-anticipated RPG.
Unsurprisingly, most of the questions asked by gamers are centered around the character named Johnny Silverhand played by “John Wick” actor Keanu Reeves. CD Projekt Red founder Marcin Iwinski recently revealed that Silverhand is not simply there as a cameo but will be integral in the plot development of “Cyberpunk 2077”, Gamespot reported.
Indeed, Iwinski said that Silverhand will have a lot of dialogue in the game, so much so that the other character that surpasses him in this regard is the main protagonist, V. As to how the team managed to convince Reeves to lend his voice for “Cyberpunk 2077”, quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz provided some insight on this front.
“We've been thinking about what kind of character Johnny Silverhand is. In general, he's a rebel, he stands against authorities and against the current system which is led by the corporations. He's a man of idea. Keanu has experience in playing such characters, so we've decided that he's the perfect choice for Johnny Silverhand,” Tomaszkiewicz said. The quest director added that Reeves offered a lot of assistance as to how they should approach Silverhand, which is why they’re quite confident that the character will be one of the main stars of “Cyberpunk 2077.”
Tomaszkiewicz has also provided details about animal companions other than the spider-bot seen in the gameplay demo. Unfortunately, the spider-bot is the only companion in this regard and no dogs will be following V throughout the course of the story. As for when gamers can expect “Cyberpunk 2077” to drop, it’s been slated for release on April 16, 2020. Pre-orders are already available in multiple platforms with the game tagged for $49.99.
