Czech industrial producer prices rise sequentially in October

Czech Republic’s industrial producer prices rose again in October on sequential basis. Producer prices rose 0.5 percent month-on-month, whereas agricultural producer prices increased 2.9 percent in the month. Prices of construction work and market services also rose in the month by 0.1 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively.

Within industrial producers, price rise was mainly noted in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Increased prices were also recorded in food products, beverages, tobacco dairy products and chemicals and chemical products. Only basic pharmaceutical products recorded a decline in prices.

In the meantime, an estimate showed that construction work prices increased 0.1 percent, whereas construction material input prices remained the same.

On a year-on-year basis, industrial producer prices dropped 1.7 percent, as compared to the year-on-year decline of 2.4 percent in September. Agricultural producer prices also dropped in the month by 3.8 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, construction work prices rose 1.2 percent year-on-year, and prices of market services increased 0.3 percent.

Within industrial producers, prices dropped in mining and quarrying, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, basis metals and fabricated metal products. Amongst the main industrial groupings, prices of energy dropped the most on a year-on-year basis, falling by 3.7 percent.
