DeepSeek’s fundraising target rose by 20 billion yuan before the round closed, bringing the financing to 100 billion yuan, or about $15 billion.
The earlier 80 billion yuan amount referred to the goal before it was revised, not a separate financing.
宁德时代 and 腾讯控股 were among the major investors. IDG 资本 and other existing backers also took part, while industrial capital firms accounted for most of the new investors.
Bloomberg reported the 100 billion yuan figure while the deal was still being discussed, citing people familiar with the matter. Reuters put DeepSeek’s June funding at about 50 billion yuan and said it could not immediately verify Bloomberg’s earlier account. EconoTimes previously covered the proposed financing in its report on the round and DeepSeek’s June raise.
In separate reporting, Bloomberg said DeepSeek was investing more in AI data centers and developing open-source models for users in China and overseas as it competed with leading U.S. AI labs.
