Delhi’s Dhanteras price reports presented conflicting readings, with Hindustan Times’ own gold figures differing by section and IBJA’s Friday PM gold and silver benchmarks rising day over day, complicating comparisons.
The India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd. (IBJA) set its PM rate for 916-purity gold at ₹132,022 per 10 grams Friday, up from ₹129,726 on Thursday, Nov. 5. Gold of 999 purity was ₹144,129 per 10 grams, compared with ₹141,622. The 999-purity silver rate was ₹187,300 per kilogram, versus ₹186,133. IBJA’s Nov. 6 report labels its rates as excluding goods and services tax (GST), although an explanatory note dates that tax statement to Nov. 5.
Hindustan Times reported that Delhi’s 22-carat gold price fell to ₹130,543 from ₹132,367, while its 24-carat quote declined to ₹142,515 from ₹144,506. The outlet did not specify the weight unit for those comparisons. Its city table listed Delhi prices of ₹129,774.30 for 22-carat gold and ₹141,675 for 24-carat, also without a stated unit.
The outlet’s silver figures differed as well. Hindustan Times said Delhi silver fell to ₹1,855 from ₹1,876, without giving a unit; its table listed ₹1,834.75 per 10 grams. Mint separately reported Delhi prices of ₹130,396 per 10 grams for 22-carat gold, ₹142,250 per 10 grams for 24-carat gold and ₹183,990 per kilogram for 999-fine silver.
Mint specified units for its figures, but the reports do not establish a shared pricing method or matching quote times. The published readings therefore do not support a broader conclusion about retail price direction across India. EconoTimes has previously compared India-focused gold estimates with domestic benchmarks in its gold-silver ratio analysis.
