With U.S. midterms approaching, Al Jazeera reported Oct. 30 on discounted gasoline at Detroit stations promoted by President Donald Trump, framing the offers around questions about his economic record.
The outlet asked what voters make of Trump’s record and connected rising U.S. prices with fallout from the Iran war.
An earlier EconoTimes account of a Detroit exchange over gas prices said barber Keshon Wheatley cited gasoline costs as he described plans to support Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, after voting for Trump in 2024.
