USB said mobilization actions are planned at 113 ports in 22 countries and regions. Separately, the ITF said coordinated strikes and demonstrations were planned at more than 100 ports in 17 countries.

Unione Sindacale di Base (USB), an Italian union, said more than 25 unions support the mobilization. Its announcement lists 113 ports in 22 countries and regions. The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) separately reported participation across more than 100 ports in 17 countries and described the event as a global protest against war and militarization. USB counts countries and regions, while the ITF statement gives a country count.

USB says the campaign grew from a May 2026 meeting of six unions in Istanbul. Their declaration calls on port workers to stop military cargo and troop movements headed to conflict areas. It also cites wages, working conditions, automation, and occupational health and safety as concerns. The ITF said the mobilization expresses solidarity for peace and Palestinian rights.

The coordinated actions are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 30.
