One of the anime shows that has yet to be renewed for a second season after debuting this year is “Domestic Girlfriend.” Interestingly, fans of the manga and anime series have conflicting opinions on whether or not “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 should be produced.
‘Domestic Girlfriend' season 2 release date: Why some fans prefer a series remake and not a renewal?
Many passionate fans of the original manga series found themselves disappointed with the anime adaptation of “Domestic Girlfriend” for several reasons. But all those factors have contributed to the sentiment that it would be better if the anime series will not get another installment.
“Domestic Girlfriend” had a total of 12 episodes, but many manga fans felt like the pacing of the stories from the source material was rushed, especially in the final episodes. To some fans, it was probably an indication that the anime series was only released to excite new fans and get them to read the manga series.
Most anime adaptation shows faithfully follow the story arcs, though, not necessarily the chronology of events. However, some fans thought that the first season of “Domestic Girlfriend” skipped on too many events significant in the characters’ developments. And since it would be too late to fix that now, some fans have been commenting that it could affect the overall story if the anime series gets a second season.
Other fans still believe that the story, especially in the manga, is worth following. Instead of closing their doors for the anime series, they have suggested that maybe a remake instead of “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 would fix the issues raised by other followers. Whether or not the speculations are correct, it should be noted that there is no release date for the second season yet because producers have yet to announce it.

Anime-only fans rooting for the Hina and Natsuo love team will be disappointed if “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 ever gets released. Hina is resolved in keeping her promise of getting far away from Natsuo until she finds her happiness. Their separation will do good things for Natsuo, especially with his writing career. But it will also give him the chance to be closer to Rui that would later end up with them being in a relationship.
