Some anime fans might still be insisting on not reading the manga while hoping that the animated adaptation will be renewed. However, knowing how this love triangle story will pan out might help them decide whether to keep on waiting for “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 or to start reading the manga series.
‘Domestic Girlfriend’ season 2 spoilers
Things did not end well for Natsuo and Hina in season 1. Their relationship was leaked to the faculty staff of their high school where Natsuo is a student and Hina is a teacher. The latter was forced to leave the city and work somewhere else, and it also meant their relationship needed to end abruptly. If “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 is going to be released, this is where the anime series should pick up.
After Hina left, Rui declared to Natsuo that she would no longer hold back her feelings for him. That sets up the ultimate love triangle of the series. This is also going to be the center of the plot in case “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 ever gets made. The next story arcs will focus on developing the relationship between Rui and Natsuo and on the individual character developments as well.
The stories to be tackled in “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 might even convince more anime fans to switch to the Team Rui side. Unfortunately for Team Hina, the manga dictates that Natsuo and Hina will no longer have a chance to get back together.
In the current arc in the manga, Rui and Natsuo’s relationship has matured so much that it has now led to them getting ready for their wedding. This also suggests that Rui is going to be the woman in the series to ultimately win Natsuo’s heart. Aside from their upcoming wedding, the two are also expecting their first child.
‘Domestic Girlfriend’ season 2 renewed or canceled
The production of “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 has not been announced yet, but there was also no definitive declaration that the anime is ultimately canceled. So anything is practically possible for the anime adaptation at this point. However, fans have waited long enough and might want to consider supporting the manga series now.
