DuPont raised its 2026 earnings outlook after third-quarter results exceeded its guidance, as higher sales across its healthcare, water and industrial businesses lifted the company’s full-year targets.

DuPont now projects adjusted earnings per share (EPS), a non-GAAP measure, of $7.47 to $7.52 and operating earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), also a non-GAAP measure, of about $1.785 billion for 2026. In August, it had forecast adjusted EPS of $7.17 to $7.32 and operating EBITDA of $1.75 billion to $1.77 billion. The company expects organic sales growth of about 4.5%, compared with its prior target of slightly more than 4%.

For the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, net sales rose 4% year over year to $1.868 billion. Organic sales increased 5%, while currency shaved 1 percentage point off growth. Adjusted EPS came to $2.09, a 62% increase from a year earlier, and income from continuing operations under generally accepted accounting principles was $171 million, up 68%. DuPont reports these figures on a continuing-operations basis.

Healthcare & Water Technologies generated $865 million in sales, up 4% from a year earlier, with organic sales also 4% higher. DuPont said demand for personal protection and medical packaging helped its healthcare technologies business achieve organic growth in the mid-single digits; water technologies recorded low-single-digit growth.

Sales at Diversified Industrials climbed 4% year over year to $1.003 billion, and organic sales rose 5%. The company said aerospace demand and electric-vehicle battery applications supported mid-single-digit organic growth in industrial technologies.

DuPont attributed the third-quarter increase in operating EBITDA to organic growth and productivity improvements. It said adjusted EPS also reflected stronger segment earnings, lower net interest expense, a reduced tax rate and a smaller share count.

For the fourth quarter, DuPont forecast sales of about $1.825 billion, operating EBITDA of about $455 million and adjusted EPS of $1.90 to $1.95. It completed a $250 million accelerated share purchase in the third quarter and substantially completed $100 million in open-market repurchases. The company said it intends to repurchase another $250 million of shares in the fourth quarter.
