Dubai Police officials reported Dh367 million in operational savings from its On the Go digital service initiative, which they said has cut time and paperwork for public transactions in the emirate. Gulf News reported May 13 that officials presented the figures at the On the Go Initiative Forum.

Officials said service procedures fell by 75%. Forum figures showed a 99.5% decline in processing time, a 78.2% drop in operating costs and a 71.4% reduction in required documents and conditions. Before the changes, one service could involve seven documents and four separate procedures over several days; the revised process can be completed in two minutes, Gulf News reported.

Gulf News reported that 7,762 people have benefited from services at 158 petrol stations and other locations, with support from Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat), Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC).

Forum data recorded 2,013 lost items returned through the program. Participating petrol stations logged 3,981 minor traffic accident reports and 1,375 reports against unknown parties. Police Eye received 296 reports, while the e-Crime platform recorded 97 cybercrime reports. A further 1,011 accident-related reports were processed through a new smart system, Gulf News reported.

The eight offerings cover Police Eye and e-Crime, lost-property help, support for people of determination, vehicle repair requests, labor complaints, minor-crash reporting and complaints involving unknown parties. Forum figures put customer transaction costs at Dh420, down from Dh650, and total operational costs at Dh420, compared with Dh1,927.

Dubai Police said it launched the initiative to simplify procedures and support the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government's Zero Bureaucracy Programme. The force also cited faster security patrol response times, fewer visits to service centers, higher public happiness levels and broader security coverage among the program's benefits. Related training and activities reached 23,816 people, the report said; the forum also included workshops on traffic laws, road safety, reducing bureaucracy and community volunteering.
