The Dutch TTF November gas contract rose 6.6% to €93.29 per megawatt-hour on Oct. 23 amid Gulf shipping disruptions and concerns about winter supply, Anadolu Agency reported.

The contract had closed at €87.55 the previous Friday. Its Oct. 23 price was the highest since December 2022, according to the agency.

Anadolu Agency cited disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and said liquefied natural gas shipments from the Middle East were about 80% below their level a year earlier. It also reported limited alternative supply.

European and Asian buyers were competing for available gas cargoes, the agency said. European Union gas storage was 74.62% full on Oct. 22, below the seasonal average.
