E-Mart has opened its seventh Mongolian outlet in Ulaanbaatar, widening a retail presence that began in 2016 as the company prepares another store and more No Brand locations, The Korea Herald reported.

The retailer plans to launch an eighth store in November at Ulaanbaatar Department Store. It also intends to grow No Brand, its specialty format, from two Mongolian locations to seven by the end of 2026, the newspaper reported. No Brand's first shop in Mongolia opened in July, and a second followed in early October.

The new branch covers 3,272 square meters, making it E-Mart's third medium-sized outlet in the country since its market entry in 2016, according to the Herald. It occupies the first floor of UG Arena, a sports and cultural complex in the capital. The venue stages exhibitions, concerts, live performances and sporting events. The report said the store is meant to serve people who live or work nearby as well as event visitors.

About 1.7 million of Mongolia's 3.5 million residents live in Ulaanbaatar, The Korea Herald reported. E-Mart designed the outlet for customers who want to shop, eat and take a break in one place; a rest area sits at the store's center, the newspaper said.

The selection includes No Brand merchandise, Korean food, groceries and meal kits, alongside sportswear and sporting goods. Shoppers can also find beer, wine, cut fruit and freshly pressed juices, according to the Herald. Other businesses in the arena include food and beverage brands, fashion and cosmetics retailers, healthcare providers and lifestyle services.

Kang Young-seok, head of E-Mart's Global Business Division, said the company's decade of experience in Mongolia informed its expansion into No Brand specialty outlets, according to The Korea Herald. He said E-Mart would shape its stores around local customers' lifestyles and market conditions. The next planned step is the Ulaanbaatar Department Store opening in November.
