Fix Price closed its three remaining Mongolian stores by the end of September, ending the Russian discount retailer’s expansion in a market it entered in 2023, The Moscow Times reported Monday. The newspaper said Vedomosti based its report on Fix Price’s third-quarter 2026 financial results.

The Moscow Times traced the chain’s local start to two franchise outlets opened in Ulaanbaatar in January 2023. It reported that the network had grown to four locations near the end of 2025 before shrinking. Fix Price did not publicly explain its departure, the newspaper said.

Across other markets during the same three-month reporting period, Fix Price added 10 stores in Serbia and five in Uzbekistan. Its franchise counts fell by two in Kyrgyzstan and one in the United Arab Emirates, The Moscow Times reported.

South Korean retailer E-Mart has also expanded in Mongolia, opening its seventh outlet, as EconoTimes previously reported.
