EDF plans to redeem €850 million in hybrid bonds on Dec. 15, the earliest date allowed under the 2020 issue’s early-call terms, as the French utility reviews its financing needs.

EDF issued the bonds Sept. 15, 2020. Their terms are set out in a prospectus dated Sept. 11, 2020, the company said Tuesday.

In a separate transaction, EDF priced a €100 million addition in late October 2026 to green bonds first issued May 7, 2025. Those securities have an initial seven-year maturity and a fixed coupon of 3.25%.

EDF described itself as an active debt issuer and said it regularly reassesses its funding requirements. Its options include senior debt, hybrid bonds and other securities; the company also considers market conditions in France and internationally.

The redemption is scheduled for Dec. 15, 2026.
