EXO’s Chanyeol slammed for appearing on ‘Law of the Jungle’; Netizens calling for his immediate removal from the show

EXO’s Chanyeol was recently confirmed to be one of the idols who are participating in the new season of SBS’ “Law of the Jungle.” It was revealed that a total of 12 people are joining Kim Byung Man in the islands of Ulleungdo, Dokdo for exploration.

This is a historic moment as this is the first time that a variety show is featuring Dokdo in great lengths and showing its underwater atmosphere too. Soompi reported that Oh My Girl’s Arin, Go, Joon Hee, Park Soo Hong, Lee Jong Kook, Park Mi Sun, and Gary were also cast alongside Park Chanyeol. in addition, some “Law of the Jungle” veterans including Song Jin Woo, Oh Jong Hyuk and Lee Sang Yi are in the lineup too.

“It was my first time going to Dokdo and Ulleungdo. I felt slightly emotional when I saw Ulleungdo, but I lost my words for a bit when I saw Dokdo,” Soompi quoted Kim Byung Man as saying. “I got so emotional that I can’t fully express it in words even now.”.

Reaction on Chanyeol’s appearance on the show

The “Law of the Jungle” in Ulleungdo, Dokdo is set to premiere on Dec. 12 however, a controversy erupted before the show airs this weekend. It was reported that the appearance of EXO’s Chanyeol was not welcome by most of the netizens.

As per Koreaboo, many people are demanding the removal of Chanyeol from the show. People were commenting that they do not want to see a celebrity who has a controversial life taking part in “Law of the Jungle.”

Now, since the episodes were shot in advance, people want the EXO member to be edited out so he will not appear on the screen. They said they are firmly requesting for the production team to kick Chanyeol out. Currently, there is no response from the production team yet.

The cause of the backlash

The negative reactions stemmed from the fact that Chanyeol was recently involved in a scandal. Someone who claimed to be his ex-girlfriend accused him of cheating. She said that throughout their relationship, the idol dated many other girls and she just found out about it.

She alleged that they just recently broke up and because she can’t overcome what Chanyeol did to her, she is hoping that her confession will serve as karma for the EXO member. The lady revealed that while dating Chanyeol, he has also gone out with several other ladies who are idols, flight attendants and more.
