PROVIDENCE, R.I., May 08, 2018 -- Energy Source, a division of Revolution Lighting Technologies, today announced it has reached a significant milestone, saving more than 280 million kWh for more than 6,000 businesses and governmental agencies through the installation of energy efficient LED lighting solutions over the past decade. The bulk of kWh saved comes from Energy Source’s years of experience serving as authorized vendors for utility programs like Eversource, National Grid, and Mass Save.
The energy reduction equates to more than $33 million in energy savings for Energy Source customers and is the equivalent to removing 230,000 tons of Co2 from the environment.
Energy Source has built its reputation as a premier vendor for utility based small and large businesses across state sanctioned energy efficiency incentive programs throughout the northeast, and is currently affiliated with eight programs within Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and New York. The Company is a leading Project Expediter (PEX) – a select group of energy service companies that have gone through a competitive bid process with National Grid – for National Grid’s Small Business and Large Business Programs throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The National Grid PEX program connects customers with carefully screened, authorized vendors who guide the customer through the process of improving energy efficiency at their business.
For the last eight years, National Grid has awarded Energy Source the Project Expediter Achievement Award for being a leading provider of energy savings throughout their service territories, significantly exceeding its program goals through turnkey energy conservation services from energy assessment to installation, while taking advantage of commercial rebate programs within the service territory.
Energy Source has also long participated in the Eversource Energy Small and Large Business Programs throughout Massachusetts, including this year being given the “Top Performer Award” for achieving the highest level of performance for the small business territory. In the Unitil, New Hampshire and Massachusetts area, Energy Source was also recognized as a Small Business Turnkey Efficiency Contractor.
“At Knowledge Park, our biggest line item was our power usage and how we were going to control that. Energy Source came in and knew exactly what fixtures were needed and was crystal clear on how much money and energy we were going to save,” said Bob Macnamara, Principal of Knowledge Park. “The entire process was seamless from the assessment, to install, to post-install. The financial benefit was no question - we can now take the capital and invest it elsewhere.”
Energy Source further expanded into Connecticut in 2017 after being chosen for the Small Business Energy Advantage program, administered by The United Illuminating Company to provide cost effective, turnkey energy solutions to approximately 20,000 commercial and industrial customers within 18 towns across the state. SBEA program contractors enable small businesses to reduce energy costs by identifying and implementing cost-effective energy efficient opportunities, promote education to encourage replacement of existing equipment with high efficiency options and procure financial incentives.
“We are extremely proud of the work we have done, to help more than 6,000 businesses and governmental agencies achieve their energy efficiency goals in a manner that was easy and affordable to them. I am also excited about the continued geographic growth of our company, as we enter new markets like New York,” said Mike Lemoi, CEO, Energy Source. “The longstanding success of Energy Source within state sanctioned energy programs like National Grid and Eversource speaks volumes both about the high-quality LED solutions we install, but also the comprehensive services we provide each customer throughout the lifecycle.”
“We are proud of the success of Energy Source, as they continue to operate as a leader within utility-sponsored energy programs throughout the New England area, and now in to New York. Their continued success is an important part of our overall mission at Revolution Lighting,” said Robert V. LaPenta, CEO, and Chairman, Revolution Lighting. “Energy Source’s outstanding turnkey services and customer support have enabled them to become a trusted partner of small and large businesses, medical centers, and commercial establishments everywhere. The entire Energy Source team should be proud of this milestone and the results they have achieved on behalf of more than 6,000 happy customers.”
This past January, Energy Source was also named a PEX for the National Grid Upstate New York Program. The commercial & industrial rebates and incentives program connects businesses with rebates and incentives on the latest energy saving solutions, like LED lighting.
