Enugu State Gov. Peter Mbah denied ordering a private venue to refuse a Nigeria Democratic Congress town hall scheduled for Thursday, after a party aide accused him of influencing a booking decision.

Premium Times reported that Sampson Ukwu, media aide to Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, the NDC's Enugu governorship candidate, said the party had arranged to hold the town hall at Amadeo Event Centre but was later told its approval had been withdrawn. Ukwu alleged Mbah was behind the decision.

Mbah denied directing a private facility to bar a political party from using its premises, according to reports by Premium Times and Daily Post Nigeria.

The NDC said the gathering was set for Thursday, Oct. 29, and listed presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as speakers, Premium Times reported.
