Russian attacks damaged or destroyed four Epicentr facilities in Ukraine within a period of less than 24 hours, the retailer said, while local accounts detailed fires and injuries at two sites. Its Oct. 25 statement listed Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia and Poltava but did not specify which facilities were damaged and which were destroyed.
Poltava Regional Military Administration head Vitalii Diakivnych said an attack on the store on Oct. 25 caused a fire and injured a 52-year-old woman. Suspilne separately reported that a drone was used.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov said two strikes hit a shopping center in Kharkiv’s Osnovianskyi district on the evening of Oct. 24. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) reported that a rescuer was injured while fighting the fire. Suspilne, citing the regional governor, reported that a 39-year-old man sought medical care after the strike.
In Vinnytsia, Suspilne reported, citing law-enforcement sources, that fire affected 150 square meters and damaged the store’s furniture department. Epicentr also listed a Zaporizhzhia facility among the sites attacked. Regional head Ivan Fedorov reported a strike on a commercial facility and said its employees were unharmed, but did not identify it as an Epicentr site.
Suspilne previously reported, citing regional officials, that a Russian strike on the Kharkiv shopping center on Aug. 27 killed a 40-year-old man and led five people to seek medical care.
