Eternal Limited says its Dark.ai assistant is being developed within the listed parent of Zomato and Blinkit, but the project has no revenue or settled business model to gauge its earnings potential.
Chief Financial Officer Akshant Goyal told analysts on an Oct. 21 earnings call that Dark.ai has been under development for about a year. Its expenses are recorded in Eternal’s “others” segment and are insignificant in the company’s accounts at present, he said.
Eternal’s latest results show the scale of its existing businesses. Consolidated adjusted revenue reached ₹24,621 crore in the quarter through Sept. 30, a 76% increase from a year earlier. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization rose 197% to ₹666 crore, while business-to-consumer net order value grew 54% to ₹35,644 crore.
Founder and Vice Chairman Deepinder Goyal described Dark.ai in a shareholder letter as an assistant intended for private conversations, using adapted open-weight models and encryption. He said he hopes to launch it globally in 2026. Eternal has announced neither a firm release date nor a price.
Akshant Goyal said Dark.ai could become profitable if it succeeds. He also said Eternal could face higher computing costs if demand grows. He expects the next 12 months to show whether any of the company’s AI initiatives become significant.
Market commentators cited by Mint suggested AI might help analyze shopping behavior or improve store and kitchen operations. Eternal has not confirmed those proposed uses for Dark.ai.
Separately, Temple’s website names Temple Private Limited as the provider of a wearable device promoted by Deepinder Goyal. He said preorders for Temple Batch 01 will open Nov. 1. Each device is to be made to order, with delivery within three months of purchase.
